I was asked to take on a weekend project, decorating a brand new short-term rental property near Charleston, SC. Naturally, I said yes! I snagged the hubby and off we went to bring this house into a charming abode. What a wonderful challenge it is to design a space where people can come to unwind and relax, while enjoying the environment, that I contributed to creating. Not to mention it's in a fantastic area to vacation in, with some of the best restaurants, shops and beaches. Who doesn't love Charleston!

We arrived Friday afternoon, and immediately got to work putting together the various pieces of furniture that had been previously ordered and organizing kitchen items.
As we assembled the furniture, I started a comprehensive list of additional items we would need to complete the overall look and feel for this great get-away home. The list included decorative accents like throw pillows and artwork that would add color and personality to the rooms. I also noted practical items such as storage solutions, lighting fixtures, and plants that would bring life and vibrancy into the space. As I jotted down each item, I envisioned how they would all come together, creating a harmonious environment that reflected the home you'd want to stay in.
On Saturday, we made our way to a nearby home store, a place well-known for its extensive selection of home goods and renovation supplies. Our primary goal was to gather all or most of the additional items we needed, in one stop.
We navigated through the various departments, selecting artwork, lamps, toiletries, plants and just the right decorative items to bring it all together.
After gathering all the necessary supplies, we made our way to the checkout, feeling accomplished and excited about the progress we would make with our project. The trip to the local home store not only provided us with the extras we needed but also inspired us with new ideas and possibilities for this home's decorating endeavors.

Gradually, this home started to shine. We hung the different art pieces in the most suitable rooms and best walls. Then, positioned lamps, curtain rods, curtains, and other items in their perfect locations.
For this beauty's theme, I opted for a clean aesthetic featuring white bedding, lamps, curtains, shower curtains, and towels. This establishes a cohesive flow for the whole, which I then enhanced with blues and greens. The accent colors evoke a beachy feel along with a classic Charleston vibe.
Guest Bedroom #1 came together nicely with a dimensional art piece above the headboard, a large flower print with blues and neutrals to tie in the overall theme.
In Guest Bedroom #2, a stunning faux palm tree was added to introduce greenery and height. The artwork features abstract prints in shades of blue. The clock above the headboard is an excellent choice for incorporating round elements and adding a softer touch to the space, along with baskets to compliment.
Guest Bedroom #3, The Main Bedroom, showcases furniture in a slightly grayish hue. The texture of the white lamps perfectly complement the furniture. Additionally, having a full-length mirror is ideal for preparing for a night out in the town. This room is still a work in progress as we will install curtains and add wall art in our round 2 trip. Stayed tuned...

The bathrooms in this home are thoughtfully designed to display a variety decorative items along with practical solutions. The use of hooks for instance, is specifically intended for hanging towels, which not only serve a practical purpose but also add an element of style to the space.
Incorporating practical solutions into the bathroom design, such as baskets for toiletries or shelves for additional storage, enhances the overall functionality of the space. These elements ensure that all necessary items are readily available, making it easy to pack efficiently for a short trip or to have everything you need at hand during an extended visit.
Moreover, the decorative items selected for the bathrooms play a significant role in creating a cohesive theme that ties the entire home together. The careful curation of these details transforms the bathrooms into inviting spaces that feel both functional and aesthetically pleasing, enhancing the overall experience for anyone who enters.

This home truly came together beautifully, thanks in large part to the thoughtful and carefully chosen decorative touches that were added throughout each room. From the moment one steps inside, it becomes clear that every detail has been meticulously curated to create a cohesive and inviting atmosphere. The color palette flows seamlessly from one space to another, with hues that evoke a sense of comfort and tranquility. Overall, the home is a testament to the power of decorative touches, which transform ordinary spaces into extraordinary ones, creating an environment that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also deeply personal and inviting.
